A father’s memories

This is an ongoing passion project requested by the author’s family. The author has since passed away; with his daughter’s permission, I am sharing the first page of corrections as an example of how I applied my proofreading skills to correct typos, errors in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation to improve readability while preserving the author’s style and voice, as requested by his daughter. He was known to his family and friends as a natural storyteller. However, as the Peanuts comic strip he selected for his cover page shows, he was notorious in his family for his spelling errors and inconsistencies in his use of punctuation and capitalization.

His daughter’s intention for this project is simply to add to the family’s historical records and preserve his stories for future generations. It was important to the family that future readers would still get a sense of the author’s flare for storytelling while cleaning up errors that could cause confusion among readers who will not have the benefit of hearing him tell these stories in person.

“I so appreciate having Andi apply her proofreading skills to this document which is of such great importance to our family!  The story now flows easily and the charm of the story teller is preserved. I have confidence in Andi's proofreading expertise and will be recommending her to friends as the need arises!”
